Over 47,000 visitors at Asia’s leading Energy and Mining Exhibition
The Energy and Mining Indonesia Series of Conferences and Exhibitions which ran between the 31st October -3rd November ended on a positive note with 47,967 trade and business visitors registering throughout Indonesia and the ASEAN region.
The event which consists of four specialised trade exhibitions, Mining Indonesia (10,565 visitors), Electric/Power Indonesia (16,894 visitors), Oil and Gas Technology Indonesia (10,145 visitors) and Building and Construction Indonesia (11,363 visitors) was officially opened by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, HE Mr Purnomo Yusgiantoro.
A total of 1758 exhibitors participated in the exhibition including leading players from the Energy and Mining sectors including ABB, Alstom, Areva T+D, Bosch, Hitachi, Renault Trucks, Schneider and Siemens. The exhibitions which attracted eleven country pavilions occupied a record 28,000 sqm at the Jakarta International Expo Centre.
Exhibitors were delighted with the results and the opportunities available for Indonesia growing Energy and Mining sectors;

Alongside the exhibition two high level conferences were organized by the Indonesian Mining Association (IMA) under the theme “Re-Invigorating Indonesian Mining: Let’s Look Ahead” which attracted 373 delegates and addressed the key issues affecting Indonesia’s mining sector.
The second which was organized for the first time by the Indonesian Electrical Power Society (MKI) under the theme “Techno-Economic Update to Support Indonesia’s Accelerated Electric Power Supply Development” was a huge success attracting key note speakers from throughout the Asean region.
The Energy and Mining Indonesia Series which was 30% larger than the last edition will return 14 - 17 October 2009 and space reservations have already been confirmed for 2009
