FHT Bali 2008 draws international industry names
As the final countdown begins towards Allworld Exhibitions’ Food Hotel & Tourism Bali 2008, major food industry names from across the world continue to join the exhibitor list. The most recent signings for the show are companies and groups from Italy, the USA, Peru, France and the Netherlands, and market leaders exhibiting include Unilever, Sime Darby, Hocatsu, GEA, GEI, Narumi and many words.
The organisers are confident that when the doors open on next year's event it will comfortably surpass the success registered in 2006, when visitors saw more than 260 companies from 29 countries and regions from all around the world.
Additionally, the 2008 show is perfectly timed to catch the strong upswing in tourist arrivals to Indonesia and to Bali in particular. According to the latest official data, a total of 910,567 foreign tourists visited the island between January and July this year, a 35 percent increase from the corresponding period last year. And as the Ministry of Tourism and Culture gets ready to launch Visit Indonesia Year 2008, it is targeting 7 million arrivals in 2008, compared with 6 million this year.
Backing up the resurgence of the tourist industry, Indonesia has lately seen its economic growth rate increase to around 6 per cent a year. Planned relaxation of investment rules is predicted to draw an increased inflow of foreign funds, while changing food and beverage consumption patterns have come with increased globalisation of tastes and greater available disposable income.
New hotels, bars and shops are the drivers of growth in demand for retail technology, catering equipment and contract furnishings. APRINDO, the association for Indonesian retail merchants, forecasts continuing annual growth of up to 25 per cent
Food & Hotel Bali will once again feature food, beverages, equipment and technology for the hotel, restaurant and retail sectors, as well as one of SE Asia's most spectacular Salon Culinaires. And it once again has the official support of all the major government and trade agencies for tourism, retail, hotels and restaurants.
