Improving Economy Boosts Sales at Indonesia’s Largest Manufacturing Equipment and Machine Tool Show
The Manufacturing Indonesia Series with Machine Tool Indonesia 2007 will be held 5-8 December next year at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran. This year’s highly successful event drew 26,096 trade and business visitors from throughout Indonesia.
Running concurrently with these shows but with separate visitor registration areas will be Propak/Plastics & Rubber/Printing Indonesia 2007 after this year’s edition achieved 18,903 trade and business visitors.
The shows were officially inaugurated by Bapak Ansari Bukhari, Director General of Metal Machinery Textile and Multivarious Industries on behalf of Bapak Fahmi Idris, Minister of Industry.
A total of 18 International pavilions were present at the shows from Austria, China, Germany (2), Italy, Korea (4), Malaysia, Poland, Singapore (2), Taiwan (2), Thailand and U.K. (2).
A further 26 countries were present at the event independently.
In all 1254 exhibitors participated at Manufacturing Indonesia/Machine Tool Indonesia with a further 497 exhibitors at Propak/Plastics & Rubber/Printing Indonesia. The recent (November) lowering of interest rates and a resultant surge in consumer demand for electronic goods and automotive products was clearly reflected in sales of new manufacturing technology across both shows.
Adding value to this year’s participation was a series of seminars and matchmaking events which registered a total of 605 delegates.
These included : an EU funded matchmaking programme for the instrument and laboratory equipment sector (organized by SPECTARIS, the major European trade association for the sector), and seminars entitled “Latest Developments of the Korean Environmental Industry and Technology” (organized by KEIA – Korea Environmental Industry Association ); “Packaging Outlook 2007” (organized by FPI –
Indonesian Packaging Federation); “Supplier Quality Management” (organized by GAPMMI – Indonesian Food and Beverage Association); “Challenges and Opportunities for the Indonesian PP Woven Bags Industry in 2007” (organized by GIATPI – Indonesian Woven Polyolefin Manufacturers Association) and “Re-Imagine !
