Food & Hotel Indonesia will run 15-18 April at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, Jakarta. Now its 10th showing, Food & Hotel Indonesia 2009 is set to be one of the biggest on record.
A total of 767 companies from 34 Countries will showcase a range of products and services for the food and drink, catering equipment, hotel and hospitality sectors. International groups from Australia, Germany, Korea, Peru, Taiwan and the USA will line up alongside major local players including Andy Mannhart, ELS Indonesia Prima, EMS Indoappliances, GEI (Gelato), Hocatsu Pratama Indonesia, Narumi Indonesia, Prambanan Kencana, Sukanda Djaya, etc.
Mr. Ardi Nugroho from Prambanan Kencana PT (food & beverage distributor) said “The current global financial crisis will undoubtedly affect the Indonesian market. Nevertheless, we are very much optimistic that the food & beverage sector, as one of the strongest industry sectors can survive the non conducive environment as already attested and proven in the 1998 economic crisis.”
A number of companies will exhibit in the show for the first time including CMA (Centrale Mrktg-Gesellschaft Der Deutschen Agrawirtschen), Eurochef, Hadinovasi Wiramandiri, Libra Food Service, THEYS Chocolate, Tiger (Horeca Kulinari Lestari).
The world famous salon culinaire will be held in conjunction with Food & Hotel Indonesia. Organised by the Association of Culinary Proffesional’s, this year’s event will see the national selection for the Asian Pastry Cup in addition to 18 categories of culinary tests including fruit, vegetable & ice carving, butter, sculptures, live cooking competitions and table display’s.
In addition, the 3rd Indonesian Barista Competition 2009, organised by the Indonesian Specialty Coffee Association, will attract over 30 of Indonesia’s top baristas to face off in the all new Indonesian Barista Competition.
The Indonesian Food & Beverage Association (GAPMMI) will once again held a high level seminar addressing the latest issues affecting the countries food industry.
The events are expected to be officiated by the Indonesian Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ir. Jero Wacik at 10 a.m. on the 15th April.
